Weekly update 8th September 2023

There was all sorts of action at the weekend and into the week as we fall into that period between the track and the cross country season. A bit of fell racing, some half marathons for people looking to prep for an autumn full marathon or just race a half in its own right and the conclusion of Telford AC’s Sexarathon Series.

An intrepid couple of ladies travelled to Shropshire for the 10th anniversary of the Brown Clee Burn, 2 miles of up, 2 miles of down and a bonus 3 more miles to finish with a bacon bap rather than a medal or t shirt as a reward. Imogen Harley placed 82nd in 1.34.06 and Julia Condon was 95th in 1.47.44

Darren Owen-Jones picked up the pacing duties with his daughter at the Cheltenham Half marathon adding another medal to the collection with a 2.17.49 finish. And Mike Webb took part in the Stratford Big 10k finishing in 52.04 to take 262nd place.

It was off to Harper Adams University in Newport on Wednesday for the culmination of the Sexarathon Series with individual targets and series finishes on the line.
