Weekly Update 11th August 2023

It may have been the weather, or it may have been the lack of opportunities, maybe a combination of the two, but whatever the reason it was a quiet week for athletes from Wolverhampton & Bilston AC.

Beth Tabor kicked things off on Saturday by taking part in the Regents Park 10k placing 19th overall and 2nd lady in a time of 39.46.

A day later Rob Carrington competed in the Indian Queens Half Marathon in Cornwall, a race that boasts “a loop back to Gnomeworld” for those looking to take in some sights along the 13.1 mile route. Rob finished in 2.08.04 crossing the line in 259th position.

Greg Asbury continued his adventures on the track in the Midlands Veterans League pulling on the vest of Midlands Masters on Wednesday and recording a time of 26.2 to cross the line in first place in the M50 200m, he also placed 3rd in the triple jump with a leap of 9.50 and led off the 4 x 100 team who placed 4th. And there was more midweek action in a BMC Regional meeting at Loughborough where Lucy Horton placed 6th in her heat over 800 in 2.25.11.
